These owners wanted to upgrade their kitchen with some stylish choices. We were happy to help them make some budget friendly selections. This kitchen is a work in progress so the owners made upgrade decisions based on their needs. We guided them on what could be done now and not impact future changes.
The Kitchen was rather dark and had limited counter space for appliances.
The floor was linoleum and although in good condition, it was a few decades out of date. The long cabinet on the side of the refrigerator was a big open space being under-utilized and only stored brooms and mops.
Jason put a plan together to update the cabinet to hold a microwave. He resized the door and added shelving making it a pantry.
The Clients now have a place to store countertop cluttering appliances.
We tore out the old formica countertops and added Keystone Quartz countertops the color is Iced White. We also upgraded the sink with a deeper basin and added a new Moen faucet in oil rubbed bronze.
We went with a smaller subway tile for the backsplash given the lower height of the cabinets. This gives the appearance of more space. The tiles are from Daltile and the color is Architectural Grey in a matte finish.
I painted the old wall paneling using the Benjamin Moore color Sail Cloth. I also added a lovely tile detail above the stove using arabesque tiles from Daltile.
We added a light fixture above the island workspace and moved the stove light. One of the biggest complaints the client had was that the lights cast a shadow over all the workspaces.
Hole left in the rafter from moving lights...
After a little art work, I think I covered it well...
This project was a fun challenge to find solutions that worked for the client and their budget. We always love working with older homes and bringing new life to them for the owners.
